Born and raised in Chicago’s Chatham/Avalon community, Dr. Ronald Townsend, D.D.S. is a dentist who has practiced for 23 years. After receiving inspiration to attain to a career in dentistry, Dr.Townsend started his journey. Initially, he studied at the University of Chicago for 4 years majoring in Biochemistry. From the University of Chicago he was accepted into the College of Dentistry at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. VVhile at Meharry he was able to master his trade. At that point it was clear that Dentistry was the profession for him. Dr. Townsend has always been known as a people person with an outgoing personality. After 4 years of study at Meharry Medical College, Dr. Townsend graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1986. After graduation he relocated back to Chicago and began practicing with a distinguished dentist on the South Side of Chicago. Always wanting to give back to the community, Dr. Townsend opened a small private practice in the Chatham neighborhood. It was through his practice that he was able to see the fulfillment of his hard work. For the reason of being a caring doctor having his patient’s best interest at heart, he was able to accumulate a large patient clientele. Over the years Dr. Townsend has expanded his practice to accommodate his growing practice. His practice specializes in Cosmetic Dentistry. In addition to having a private practice, over the past year Dr. Townsend has been the Director of Dental Services for Cermak Hospital, an affiliate of Stroger Hospital. Today Dr. Townsend is highly respected and well known throughout the Dental community. He has dedicated his Dental career to establishing a standard of care for patients in Dentistry. Dr.Townsend has devoted his practice to providing the best possible care for every patient and when this is out of his reach, he does not hesitate to refer you to someone to handle your situation.
